Last chapter break story we got into the history of the Fauni quite a bit. I should remind the readers that the first fauni were exceptionally powerful and more Fey in nature. A powerful spell could be cast on a whim and hold permanence.
In the comic's present time a Fauni could attempt a curse like this but it would probably involve an elaborate ritual, assistants, and the victim to hold in place while they set up (not so great if a guy is charging you with a sword). Its safe to say this kinda magic is rare in the world now though not impossible.
