I've been thinking about the chapter a for a good while, Maeve's story has had a journey to say the least.
Panel 1: a pot simmers on the cook fire in the center of the hut. Maeve begins, "Long ago.."
Panel 2: "When you were only a little baby..." Maeve looks down at her arms, as if imagining a memory of holding an infant
Panel 3: "Your mother was murdered." Trystan's eyes go wide.
Panel 4: She covers her mouth in surprise, trying to understand what Maeve is saying. "but...but..?" she stammers
Panel 5: Maeve continues, staring at her hands "Her life was taken unfairly, Selfishly! "
Panel 6: "Fendrel could not bear it..."
Panel 7: "That is what he told me...over and over again." Maeve leans forward, clutching her blouse, as if pained by the memory. "So he brought me back... And it cost him everything."
