Technically she stole the doll, but i doubt Wicker is convinced.
Have you read any good fantasy books lately? I have, let me share with you my:
One of my favorite books I read in 2015 was Helene Wecker's "The Golem and the Jinni".
The story takes place in turn of the century New York where we see the struggle of Jewish and Syrian immigrants adapting to life in America through the eyes of a Yiddish Golem woman- brought to life by sorcery and lost and abandoned without a master- and a Bedouin Jinni with a soul of fire who was imprisoned for a thousand years in a tin flask. These two characters, one stoic and methodical and the other independent and wandering, come together to form an unlikely bond. With a mix of Kabbalistic magic and ancient middle eastern folklore this book really captured my imagination and surprised me. If you like a little bit of history and magical realism than I'd definitely give this one a look (or listen- the audio book was done very well).
Also, if you are a goodreads member and want to see what kind of weird crap I indulge in you can find me here. There is a good chance that future reccomendations will include more dragon fantasy and supernatural romance books...
Oooh, one last thing. Do you guys like bad book podcasts? Do you listen to I Dont Even Own a Television? I will be attending thier first liveshow in SanFrancisco next week. So if by some random chance you will be there come geek out with me about Star Wars.
